Rochester University welcomes applicants who desire to grow academically, spiritually, and professionally. Our admissions process is designed to assess motivation, character, academic readiness, and alignment with the mission of Christian leadership.
1. Application Steps

Submit the Online Application
Complete the application form and provide accurate personal, academic, and program information.

Upload Required Documents
You will need to submit:
Diploma or transcript
Government-issued ID or passport
Letter of recommendation
Application fee
English proficiency documents (if required)
Additional documents for international students or transfers

Interview
Applicants will participate in an admissions interview to assess motivation, readiness, and fit with the university’s mission.

Application Assessment
The admissions team evaluates academic preparation, language readiness, and overall suitability for the program.

Receive Admission Decision
If accepted, students will receive:
Official acceptance confirmation
Instructions for enrollment, registration, and payment of required fees

Register & Begin Classes
Students must:
Pay tuition and fees
Register before the deadline
Attend orientation (if applicable)
Begin coursework according to the academic calendar
2. Admissions Requirements
General Requirements (All Applicants)
Applicants must:
Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED or CHSPE).
Submit a completed application package (application form, diploma/transcript, recommendation letter, fees).
Complete a successful admissions interview with faculty or staff.
Pay all required fees.
Program-Specific Requirements
Bachelor’s Programs: High school diploma or equivalent.
Master’s Programs: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited or recognized institution.
English Proficiency Requirements
Required for non-native English speakers:
TOEFL (minimum 550 PBT / 85 IBT)
ORProof of ESL coursework
ORTranscript from an institution where instruction was in English.
3. International Student Admission (F-1 Visa)
Rochester University is authorized to issue Form I-20 for international students.
Additional Requirements
International applicants must submit:
Passport copy
Proof of financial support (bank statement or sponsorship)
English proficiency documentation
Official translated documents if not in English
I-20 Issuance Process
Upon admission:
An Initial Form I-20 is issued.
Students pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee.
Students apply for an F-1 student visa.
Students may enter the U.S. up to 30 days before the program start date.
4. Transfer Students
Students may transfer credit from accredited institutions following evaluation.
Key rules:
Only courses with a grade of C or higher are considered.
Transfer credit limits:
Bachelor’s: up to 90 units
Master of Theology: 24 units
Master of Divinity: 40 units
Official transcripts are required.
5. Tuition, Fees & Payment Information
Students are required to:
Pay tuition and fees PRIOR to the start of each quarter
Pay a $100 tuition deposit each quarter
Purchase required textbooks
